Through experimentation and engagement with materials and theory, this series of work explores our relationship with objects, material culture, and visual culture. The works are a reflection on the deep meaning we attach to objects and the proclivities we hold as a society, exploring the relationships between memory and projection, form and illusion, questioning what we know to be true. Objects hold emotional meaning, associations, nostalgia and experiences that ground us to our past. These associations, juxtaposed with surreal motifs, call into question the nature of perception and reality, and an imbalance, paradoxical in nature, begins to reveal itself.
